What will today bring ?

Every day bring us a new challange in one way or another even if we dont relize it each day i try to be posative, helpfull and not moan as much as the prevoius day but working with the public can put a lot of strain on this theory so try to do to others what you can expect of them and it might just all work out nicely .if not just count to 10...........or in my case a 110 !!!

Lazy Sundays

Today was a lovely day the sun was out and no rain our house was free of teenagers and it was peacefully .
As I was wrapped up listening to my latest book I decided to do a bit of baking .
There were some un eaten  apples hanging around and I found some blackberries lurking in the freezer so decided to wip up a crumble and even if I say so myself it was bloody lovely just like the ones my mum used to make when we were kids ,as I sat in the kitchen stuffing myself I starred out the window god time flys bye so fast it only seams like yesterday that we would be coming home from church (yes I did go to church when I was a kid lol) and mum would be in the kitchen the windows steaming up roast potatoes spitting in the dish and dad carving up the meat my jaws would be salavating and a hot crumble for after yuk I would say I'm not eating that muck .

OMG what was I missing out on for all theses years I must have been mad ,mine was to die for so I can only imagian what my mums would have been like oh well it's only took me 30yrs to find out I like crumble ........

Hats away

On wet and windy days like today you need to keep your head warm and my Lotty loves her hats over the years I have knitted dozens all shapes and sizes to mimick the latest trends.

This year was no different "mum can you do a reversable one so I don't get board" she cried ,so off I went to put my thinking cap on to work out how I was going to do this...... ummmm!

I found some charts on the net for PAC man and space invaders which she loved as any think geek gose down well with her,and she decided on grey and purple strips .

I decided to knit to seperate  hats and then sew them together so each side had a designe but the hardest thing was getting the chart to knit upside down so as you turned up the turn back of the hat the character was the right way round.
I must confess this took me ages to fathom but got there in the end ,and because it's  two layers thick is nice and cosy on wet windy days .

The PAC man must be very nostegic to people because Lotty has had som many complements from the older generation (wel. Us in our 40's) as we remember them well what do you think?

The space invaders!

Couldn't resist

Out shopping yesterday I was in a daze when I spotted some very nice Aran weight yarn it was on sale in Aldi.

Originally £7.99 a ball down too £3.99 for a 400g now that's just too good bargin to pas up so I just had to pick up a couple of balls ,I wanted this blue shade but as they were right at the back of the basket I couldn't reach  I loitered around a bit looking for some one to ask as this large polish man walked through the doors I pounced on him to ask if he could reach them which he looked at me gone out but did so, I don't know people are not very helpfull to strangers these days are they anyway when I put the two balls together they were different colours (that's me and my blind eyes for ya) so I settled for the grey in they end as there was lots of balls with the same dye lot .

I have a nice pattern that I've been meaning to do but not got around too finding some nice wool and this will be perfect however in going to do mine just a little bit longer as I like them to cover my bum

I like James Brett patterns they are easy and clear to follow it has just the right amount of pattern not to be boarding but not to hard so I can watch TV and not go wrong this is one to take to knit nite as all we do is chatt and I don't have to concentrate too hard

I also think that I will do three fastenings not just one as I like them to close around me depends though on the buttons umm I'll see keep you posted

smile the sun is shining 🌞

Today I woke up to see the sun and it made me feel in a much better mood. Is the spring just around the corner really? It's been such a long winter and were all fed up with nothing to look forward to.
As I sat in the kitchen with a cuppa and looked out at my garden it's looks so depressing everything is water logged and plants have gone rotten, my mood soon changed back to miserable .

Martyn was outside cleaning the car being chirpy so I pulled on my gardening clobber and set to trying to have a bit of a tidy up the sun maybe out but it's still mighty cold out there.
Sticking my earphones on and listening to my lates book I got set too,it doesn't look as if I've done a lot but as I have so many pots to sort out a few hours soon wizz bye.

I bought some primulars in Aldi beautiful  colours and reasonable at £1.99 and a blackberry bush (I'm not putting that out yet till the frost has gone) I'm trying to fill up the bottom of my garden with fruit bushes and trees so I can have produce to try my hand at more jam, and baking well you got to give it a go lol
I've put them in the green house planted up just to keep them dry for a bit I found one pot with a plant that H bought me last yr and that has started to flower too

So please can we keep having a bit more sun and soon my garden will be al ship shape again and ready for that wonderfull summer sun and family BBQs
