What will today bring ?

Every day bring us a new challange in one way or another even if we dont relize it each day i try to be posative, helpfull and not moan as much as the prevoius day but working with the public can put a lot of strain on this theory so try to do to others what you can expect of them and it might just all work out nicely .if not just count to 10...........or in my case a 110 !!!

Thursday 17 September 2009

Well Wednesday arrived and along with it my day off ..........what shall i do today clean up the house, do some washing, catch up with all my soaps that I've got stacking up on sky plus........no I'll just have five minuets on the PC .........ha that's a joke three hours later and I'm still on it time just fl yes bye you get that engrossed.

Finally at 4.30 i thought about getting some ta on for the kids .........i had forgot all about my knit club until mt daughter had said are you out tonight mun .....OMG......i ran straight up the stair I've got to get ready i look a right old mess.

two hours later showered booted and suited i was waiting for mart to drop me off. This week i wasn't nervous about going Cu's i new the corner to find where they would all be sitting

Arrive to be greeted my Linda and a big smile "oh we weren't that bad then you came back".

When secretly i was thinking "phew she recognised me from last week!"

As more ladies arrive different ladies from last week the room began to fill, soon we were all chatting and knitting as last week took my project out my bag and glanced round the group nearly every lady was doing a different piece from the week before.

I commented on had they finished there projects all ready to be told that nearly all the ladies had a least 4 of 5 plus projects on the go ....well i felt stupid because i was still on the same thing and have been doing it for yonks by the time i get it done the summer will be here and i wont get chance to wear it.

One lady had just completed this ......wonderful brightly coloured striped sock in just........ ..3 days my gob dropped to the floor.

it then began to dawn on me that these ladies were very experienced and competent and i began to fill inferior in there company.Recently they had been awarded some yarn for appearing in the article that i first sore there advert to the join the club . Jane the organiser was offering it out to the members to do projects with all the ladies were dissing this wool .god its awful quality one said feel it its Hindus said another ..what can you do with that it would melt if you got to close to a fire ......all negative comment about this wool (that to me i couldn't tell i just thought what nice colours it was)...i then began to think i used to think i knew a lot about knitting and such but i obviously didn't and have such a lot to learn. This puzzled look must have cross on my face as one o the ladies looked at me as if she new exactly what i was thinking and smiled saying don't worry before long you will be ooohing and arrring just like the rest of us .The two hours went really fast and before you knew it was time to pack up, i really enjoyed myself and even felt a part of the group this week. Hopefully next week i will have finished my sweater as i only have a little left to do half of me cant wait to take it in to show them all and feel proud of my finished project and listen to them telling me how nice it is like the lady with the fabulous stripy sock (well they were brilliant) ........but the other half of me wants to leave it at home just in case i cant hide the disappointment on my face if the ladies think its a sham..........I'm sure they wont.........i hope they wont...............until next time Happy knitting

  1. Don't worry, I'm sure we will have you knitting a sock in no time! The freebie yarn was ok colours, it was the fact it was mostly all acrylic fun fur that was the problem. Not impossible to knit with, but impossible to fix if you drop a stitch, and almost impossible to unpick afterwards (it goes bald quite quickly - my knitting room is full of fluff, now!)
