well I've started a new project a fairels type cardigan ................its looks very complicated but the trick is in the yarn .
Crofter DK by Sirdar ooooh its lovely comes in lots of colour ways i was standing in hobby craft for what seamed like hours deciding on which one i went for grey black and whites or so i thort when i got ti home i cast on straight away as you knit it forms very clever stripy effect with bits. As the back piece grew i asked my daughter what colour she thort it was and she said it kind of green and blue and purple mum ..............no its not its black and grey i said to her .errr no mum its not.
In the day light out side the next morning i could see the colours better and she was right ...i was a bit disappointed because they were not the colours i wanted at all.My eyes are getting that bad these days with the colours and it was quiet dim light lighting in hobby craft i didn't notice ,but as Ive knitted up a bit more its begin to grow on me .........ha !
Will just have to wear matching clothes when i put it on and make sure i ask holly what colour they are as the wool was quiet pricey i;m not letting it go to waste will try to take some pics to show you how its developing.

I'd blame the electric light myself - it can have quite a dramatic effect on colour. Oh and welcome to Blogger. :)
ReplyDeleteArgh, isn't that annoying? If you hadn't started on it you could probably take it back. I just bought a big bag of the grey/pink one at Ally Pally (Alexandra Palace, the yearly yarn show in London). Really. Must. Resist. Starting. Another. Project. Hopefully I can make it this week and not be in flippin' Holland again :(
