where have i been

this year has just flown bye and i don't know where i have finished lots of projects but haven't had time to show you ..
so get ready were in for a long read ........lol

were did i put my wellies

It all stared off with the sunny week we had in march and i discovered that i have green finger i bought a few packets of seeds from pound land and planted them in trays well they have just got bigger and bigger i have tansferd then about for times and now there just starting to produce flowers well im so proud of myself ......lol

i now have the bug ..a little later on i planted out my bedding plants and i think i went a bit mad but they look fa b

Well as the sun seamed to be out for awhile i have enjoyed sitting in the garden doing my knitting ......a few year ago Marty bought me a lovely swinging chair and i have used it to death and it was looking a little worse for wear so as the garden was beginning to become alive with colour i decided to smarten up my chair .

Marty got some spray metal paint from work and i traipsed round all the places i could think of to get material i tackled the job in hand .

I am very proud of the results it looks just  as new if not better than the original very Laura Ashley my sister quoted

Time flyes

Where dose the time go ..................it seams ages since i wrote on my blog such a lot has gone on i just haven't had time ....
but i still have found the time to knit .


I have finished three project but still have not resisted to cast on more ....lol the yellow short sleeve cardi has turned out lovely and I'm very pleased with it and will go smashing with my flowered dress for the summer the blue Cotton long sleeve jacket was a bit of a pain when it came to the decreasing as all lace patterns can be , but i got there in the end and cant wait for the warmer weather to wear it  hope to get pics up soon.

pom pom mad

At Christmas time we a knitwits were making a Christmas banner to go over the bar at the hotel we all meet in on a Wednesday night .
Jane asked us all too bring odds n ends of brightly coloured wool as we were going too make pom poms well i haven't made them since i was a kid went she turned up with her fancy gadget makers in all different sizes well i was like a kiddy in a sweet shop 
i have never had so much fun these Little plastic thing made these pompoms in about 6 minuets flat as soon as i got home i was straight on eBay and got my self a couple and have not stopped making them since  i got a small maker so could use it for trimmimg up things as hats scarf ...............well what ever take ur fancy really

Cherry Baby

Its not long now till our lovely jouiner stylist has her little baby girl as we all wait for the new arrival i shall see how you the lovely blanket that i have made for her .

it took 48 small individual squares to make it i little teadus but i got there in the end .

These squares were then sewn together and a boarder of 8 stitches and a lace pattern repeat made a boarder that was sewn on to the made up blanket

It was a bit of a fiddly job but i think it was worth it in the end lost of people have said how nice it looks and im sure Crystal will love it .

As it has been cold i to mad myself a hat and cowl to keep me warm .

Using double strands of an acrylic cream dk yarn i used a very large crochet hook and started with a chain of 50 and single crochet went round and round till had the length i wanted its lovely and warm ideal for those cold winter nights to knit club

 

Febuary Blues

Can you believe that its febuary already gosh how time flies .

Well i have Finnish Dads blue cardigan and even tho it was for his birthday the weather has been that cold that i gave it to him earlier and he hasn't taken it of since .

I'm very pleased with how it turned out and fits him lovely

Christmas has come and gone

 this was to be posted before Christmas  but as you all know what a busy time of year it is for us craft er i didn't get time so better late than never ............ha ha

Well its not long now till Christmas is here and i have been very busy getting all my things finished just in time .
Ive completed the hat and gloves set for John ....gosh hes got big hand at just 6" 6" and a size 13 shoes i suppose there not going to be tiny .....are they really pleased how they have turned out the 4ply wool i used knitted up nice and the colour forming pattern looks a bit like camouflage .

well poor dad has been complaining of a cold head at bed time so found some nice pale blue baby 4ply and using the same pattern i have knitted dad a bed night cap.........looks great

Following one of my Friends idea on ravelry she crochet some lovely wreaths for Christmas after the marathon pom pom making i needed some project to clam down so i had a go and really pleased using the template of a small metal bangle going round using green sparkly yarn singles and then doubles gradually increasing to make the wreath lye flat good fun and easy to make

Secret Santa .....at my knitting club were all of for dinner on weds and we all take a present in that we have made this year i have done a sparkly knitted tissue box cover ........ooh its lovely id like it myself  i have fully lined it and the decorated it with lots o9fsmall purl beads very pleased i hope the lucky lady like s it too
